The Brief
Taught three cohorts of Java from scratch — not refreshers for experienced developers, but people starting from zero.
What I Taught
The full arc: Java fundamentals through Spring REST, persistence, testing, security, and production-readiness tooling.
Results
4.98/5 on the last cohort. Which, for anyone who’s taught, is not a normal number.
Most technical leaders can make decisions. Fewer can explain the reasoning behind them in a way that actually changes how someone thinks. Teaching is where I figured out the difference — and it shaped how I work with engineering teams ever since.
